Complete Dental Exams, X-Rays, And Dental Cleanings
A regularly scheduled dental exam is far more than just a cleaning; it is a check-up for your oral health. Your dentist can detect any issues that may be brewing before they become a bigger problem. Early intervention means less invasive treatments and better outcomes.
Dental X-rays are the gold standard for detecting cavities hidden between teeth and under existing fillings, and they also reveal any bone or root canal changes due to infection. Dental exam x-rays have discovered cysts and even tumors, don’t put off regular dental exams; your oral and overall health depend on them.
Fillings
Decay is the enemy of tooth enamel; once it has breached the hard outer shell of your tooth, the pulp and nerves are exposed, causing sensitivity and pain. The dentist can carefully remove all traces of decay and fill small and medium-sized cavities, but larger cavities can pose much more significant problems and lead to tooth loss. Call our office for an urgent appointment if you experience any signs or symptoms of a cavity, and we will get scheduled ASAP.
Extractions
As much as we would like to save every natural tooth, sometimes it is impossible due to extensive decay or trauma damage. There is also the possibility that the teeth are overcrowded and require extraction or wisdom teeth that have become impacted. All these circumstances lead to the same conclusion; you must have a tooth extracted. Fortunately, Serenity Advanced Dentistry provides painless extractions using local anesthetics and sedation dentistry if necessary. We also offer solutions moving forward if tooth replacement is appropriate after the extraction.
Root Canals
When a tooth’s pulp is compromised through a cavity, a crack, or trauma, bacteria invades and causes an infection. It is necessary to have a root canal to eradicate the infection; left untreated, it can spread to the surrounding gums and jawbone, causing extensive damage.
Most dental patients fear a root canal, but here at Serenity Advanced Dentistry, you can relax knowing that Dr. Allala will provide a pain-free experience using local anesthesia. We also offer Sedation Dentistry options for those patients who would benefit from being more relaxed during the treatment.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic Dentistry is associated with any dental service that is for appearances only, but the fact is that it can also improve function and bite. Feeling confident in your smile is priceless, but you will be pleased to learn that advancements in dentistry have made many services more affordable. Call our office for an appointment to see what cosmetic services can do for you; you deserve it!
Cosmetic Services include teeth straightening with Invisalign, teeth whitening, porcelain or composite veneers, dental crowns, and dental implants.
Implants: Placement And Restoration
Implants are fast overtaking bridges and dentures as the preferred method of tooth replacement for good reason. They look and feel like natural teeth when placed by a talented dentist like Dr. Allala. A titanium post is inserted into the bone to support the implant; a bonus is that the post strengthens the bone and prevents bone loss. Once installed, implants are permanent and only removable by the dentist.
There are two stages to dental implants. The first is placement, the surgical component where the titanium post is placed into the jawbone. The second stage is the restoration of the missing tooth by attaching the implant crown. Some dentists only offer the restoration portion of an Implant; here at Serenity Advanced Dentistry, we provide the entire process from beginning to end. Call us today to schedule an appointment to see if you are a candidate for Implants to replace missing teeth, from one tooth to a whole mouth full.
Dental Crowns, Bridges, Full And Partial Dentures
While Implants are very popular for tooth replacement, not everyone qualifies as a candidate to receive them. For cases that require a different approach, we offer Dental Crowns, bridges, and full and partial dentures.
If you find that you need dentures, it is important to know that dentures have come a long way since your grandparents’ time. Improvements in the materials used have made them lighter, making them easier to keep in place and reducing ‘hot spots’ of irritation. Today’s dentures, properly fit, can provide a great alternative to replace missing teeth.
Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatments are not just for adolescents. You might be surprised to know that today one out of four orthodontic patients is an adult. Having your teeth straightened does more than improve your smile; it creates a better bite. When teeth fit together correctly, it decreases the risk of future dental problems such as decay, gum disease, and difficulty chewing.
Invisalign clear orthodontic treatment has been a game changer for adults longing for straighter teeth but hesitant to wear traditional metal braces. The advantages of dentist-supervised Invisalign Aligners include removing them for eating and oral hygiene, but perhaps the most significant benefit is the near invisibility of the trays. Most people will not realize you are wearing Invisalign trays, just your beaming smile.
Periodontal Therapy
Periodontal disease is a serious condition that requires immediate intervention to preserve your oral health. The beginning stage of gum disease is gingivitis, which can be reversed if detected and treated early. Allowed to progress to periodontitis, gum disease is no longer reversible. The bacteria that cause gum disease will invade deeper into gum tissues, leading to receding gums, bone, and tooth loss. That’s bad enough, but that’s not the end of the damage this bacteria can cause. It can work its way into your bloodstream, causing health problems like arthritis, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Keep those routine dental appointments for early detection of any signs of gum disease; your oral and overall health depends on it!
Sedation
At Serenity Advanced Dentistry, we believe dental visits should be as stress-free as possible. We recognize that dental anxiety is a genuine issue for many patients, sometimes preventing them from getting the dental attention they need. We offer several different sedation options depending on the patient’s distress level and the scheduled procedure.
Nitrous Oxide, aka laughing gas, is terrific for taking the edge off dental treatment nerves, and the effects wear off very quickly, meaning you can use it and still drive home after your appointment. Mild sedation leaves the patient feeling very relaxed but still fully conscious. Moderate sedation is a deeper level of relaxation; patients can respond to a request and answer questions but will not remember most of the procedure. You will need someone to drive you home after your visit for the mild and moderate sedation options, so please plan accordingly.
The takeaway is that you can visit our dental office with complete confidence that your experience here will be the most comfortable dental visit possible, free of dental anxiety or fear. Call our office today to schedule a stress-free dental visit.
